So the British government is thinking about granting rights to artificial consciousnesses if and when there ever is any. Boy, they really can’t wait to open that can of transistors can they.
I love the photo they included with the post.

There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who can’t wait for automated vehicles so that they can get into a car and have it drive them to their desired destination. And those people who love to drive and don’t ever want to see automated vehicles.
I personally think that the latter group are the ones who need automated cars the most.
And that day just got a little closer. The Carnegie Mellon’s computer-laden Chevy Tahoe - Boss - won DARPA’s Urban Challenge.
There is obviously a long way to go before we have fully automated cars on the road but with todays problems with traffic and fuel consumption I can’t think of any technological advancement - outside of flying cars - that can help improve our daily lives more.
